#3 Part 2 of 3: How my kid got over 750K views on his first video? Starting Your YouTube Channel.

Updated: May 27

Now here are the three jab strategies for using your core tribe to start your YouTube channel.

Tip # 1

What’s your niche? Remember, the riches are in the niches. Define your niche and target audience. Identify the specific theme or topic for your YouTube channel. Mr. Beast’s Niche in 2012 was based on gaming content. Specifically, let’s play videos featuring popular games like Minecraft or Call of Duty,

In 2012 he said “Let’s see where my YouTube channel goes and if I’m happy, and I keep getting views over the next 3 months, then I’ll keep uploading. If not, I’ll probably quit” Now over 10 years he’s got over 182M Subscribers.

He took that niche and expanded it to what it is today. Elaborate challenges like putting 100 people in a large room, ages 1 to 100 years old to see who can stay in their small, tiny Plexiglas room. The longest to win $500,000 in philanthropy, like offering people medical treatments like better eyesight or the ability to hear for the first time.

It’s amazing. So what’s your niche saying? If your channels about sci fi books that’s is way too broad. Narrowed it down to sci fi books that are about, I don’t know, post-apocalyptic or solar punk is a more narrow niche. It will attract more of a core tribe to get you up and running. For example, my own son, Jonah, started a channel.

ME: “Hey, Jonah, You started a channel about, what, a month ago?”

JONAH: “Yeah, a month ago.”

ME: “What was your niche?:

JONAH: “I posted a video about “Cursed Desmos” sounds”.

ME:”I don’t know what that is, but how many subscribers Do you have now?”

JONAH: “2000 subscribers?”

ME:”Whoa. Okay, cool. All right. And how many views do your videos have?”

JONAH: “The first for you has over 7500,000 views, 1800 comments and 57,000 likes. My second video has like 83,0000 views.”

ME:”All right, You’re putting me to shame. Anyway, that’s your niche, right, Jonah? And it works. And you’re going to expand from there. I have to assume, right?”

JONAH: “Yeah.”

ME:”All right, Well, there we go. Thanks, Jonah.”

Tip # 2

Post consistent content. Once you narrow down your niche, it’s time to create compelling and consistent content, produce videos that cater to your target audience’s interest, deliver value, entertain, educate, or inspire them with engaging content that keeps them coming back for more.

Tip # 3 Foster Engagement and community. Encourage viewers to leave comments, ask questions, and engage with your content. Respond to your comment. Initiate conversations and make your core tribe feel like they’re part of a community. This builds a sense of connection and loyalty.

OK, stand by for part 3 of 3.
